Would You Please Help us to Help Kayla?

UPDATED 6/15: It has been brought to our attention that my efforts to help Kayla are against Paypal policy. This is not a raffle, we are taking donations and selling Signature Tags to help support Kayla. If you would like to donate a sigature tag please email me. I was talking to my friend Arista a couple days ago and found out her daughter Kayla's latest test didn’t come out to well. Her daughter Kayla was kicked in the head by a horse and suffered a severe head injury. She's now prone to seizures and neither of her ear drums are working, week before last test showed she's now nearly deaf. They have insurance but apparently it's not doing much good because the insurance refuses to pay for any kind of special treatments to improve Kayla's hearing. I should also mention Kayla was a special child before all this so she certainly didn't need these additional health problems.

They have already almost lost there house to foreclosure. They recently gave up there furry friends because it came down to caring for pets or medical for Kayla. I know Arista had to practically beg just to gather up the $75 co-pay to take Kayla in for those test week before last. She's tried getting help locally and has been told they can put her on a waiting list, there's nothing available, or Im sorry but we're tied up with victims of Hurricane Katrina. Arista is distraught (not that I blame her) and is so down she really believes no one cares. You can read Kayla's story here.

My heart goes out to Arista as I'm a mother too so I’ve set up this donation site with all proceeds to go to Kayla & her family. Just to let you know how bad things have gotten... they sadly reached the point this past week of having to give up there pets (one they’ve had over 10 years) because it’s just comes down to medical for Kayla or food/care for their furry friends. I'm sure you can imagine how heart breaking that decision was.

UPDATED 6/5: I can't THANK those that donated enough...

I just found out yesterday that Kayla is seeing a new doctor this next week and insurance isn't covering it so they are planning to let there electricity be shut off in order to have the money for the doctor. Its just a sad situation made worse because even though Edward (Kayla's dad) is a GIS Administrator for an Energy company it's just not enough so he's been picking cans up almost daily as well and I'm sure you can imagine this man's emotional state while trying to provide for his family.
